Volume fractions of random close packed particles of various
size distributions
These data were studied in:
- "Influence of particle size distribution on random
close packing"
KW Desmond and ER Weeks, Phys. Rev. E. 90, 022204 (2014)
The data are in the form (polydispersity, skewness, kurtosis,
phi_rcp).
See our paper for further details.
- binary.txt -- binary distributions
- triangle.txt -- linear distributions
- gaussian.txt -- Gaussian
distributions (only 4 data points)
- lognorm.txt -- lognormal
distributions (only 4 data points)
- all.txt -- all data in one file, if you
prefer. This file has a fifth column to indicate the
distribution: 1=binary, 2=linear, 3=Gaussian, 4=lognormal
The polydispersity values have values close to 0.05, 0.1, 0.15,
0.25, and 0.40. Figure 2 of our paper is the 4th column
(phi_rcp) plotted against the 2nd column (skewness) with the
colors set by the 1st column (polydispersity).
