Biomedical Imaging of Skin – Scattering, OCT and Image Analysis
Understanding the nature of light scattering within tissue is a crucial issue for development of medical imaging techniques. This talk will review work on light scattering and advanced biomedical imaging techniques in skin with a particular emphasis on the analysis of these data. Microscopic measurements of static light-scattering profiles of thin tissue slices indicate that organization at the cellular level plays an important role in determining the local scattering properties.
