General Area: Molecular
and Cellular Biophysics.
Specific Interests: Novel methods in (two-photon)
fluorescence imaging and spectroscopy, developed and applied
to molecular and cellular biophysics.
In recent years, ultra-sensitive optical measurement
techniques have
evolved to the point where single molecule detection is routinely achieved.
These advances have opened up many exciting possibilities for the biophysical
investigation of cellular and biomolecular structure and dynamics. In my
research I am working with new measurement tools which take advantage of single
molecule sensitivity to study the interactions and dynamics of biomolecules.
