Transistors

·         Read Chapters 1 and 2 of Basic Electronics:  An Introduction to Electronics for Science Students by C. Meyer.  (If you're heroic and ravenous for knowledge, you could proceed to Chapters 3 and 4.)

·         Read Experiments 7 and 8 in Meyer's lab manual.  Also complete the Reference Reading indicated at the beginning of each of these experiments.  Complete the Procedures.

·         Build a transistor current source:  establish a fixed emitter current and place the "load" (a variable resistor) between the collector and the power supply.  Predict and measure the current through the load when the load resistance is in the "good" range.  Predict and measure this range.
