Harutyunyan Lab and collaborators uncover ultrafast carrier dynamics in nanoscale structures
The determination of thermal and non-thermal carrier populations in plasmonic systems generally requires assumptions about the types of distributions present. The Harutyunyan Lab and collaborators have directly determined such populations in thin film pump-probe measurements by using a double inversion procedure. These findings can lead to novel optical sensors and devices, and also provide insight into fundamental laws that govern the interaction of electrons and light.
