Emory Physics PhD graduate Neil Anthony and Professor Keith Berland together with their collaborators in the Lynn lab (Emory Chemistry) have investigated the nucleation and growth of amyloid nanotubes.  Their novel approach allowed them to characterize the peptide environment during different phases of amyloid growth, ranging from monomer through para-crystalline nanotubes.

This work was published in Soft Matter 10, 4162 (2014), and has been featured on the journals "Hot Articles for May" blog.
