Urazhdin Lab Research

Skyrmions are nanoscale topologically nontrivial magnetization textures which cannot continuously evolve into the usual “trivial” uniform magnetization state. Sergei Urazhdin and the former postdocs in his group, Weng Lee Lim and Ronghua Liu, have demonstrated the possibility to stabilize a skyrmion state in a nanoscale magnetoelectronic structure. The research suggests a route for exploring the fundamental properties of skyrmions, and their utilization in practical nanomagnetic devices
