Postdoc Awarded HHMI/STEP Fellowship

Postdoctoral fellow Mónica Fernández-Sierra has been awarded an HHMI/STEP Curriculum Development Fellowship. This program aims to integrate basic scientific research at Emory into courses at all levels, as a means to increase students' interest in science and the likelihood that they will engage in research experiences. As part of the program, Mónica will be developing a biophysics course for the Department of Physics under the mentorship of Physics faculty and the Director of the Center for Science Education, Dr. Pat Marsteller.

Mónica is a member of the laboratory of Dr. Laura Finzi, where she conducts experimental biophysics research using single-molecule methods.
