Undergrad Researcher Awarded RISE Internship


Undergraduate Physics major Yoojin Lee, has been awarded a Research Internship in Science and Engineering (RISE). RISE is a summer internship program for undergraduate students from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom in the fields of physics, biology, chemistry, earth sciences and engineering. The program offers unique opportunities for work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany, for a period of 2 to 3 months during the summer. Yoojin will investigate the effect of force on the mechanical properties of fibroblasts at the Institute of experimental physics at Ulm University.

Yoojin is a member of the laboratory of Dr. Laura Finzi, and is conducting research by using atomic force microscopy, in collaboration with Dr. David Dunlap, in the Department of Biology.
