New Faculty Member: Sergei Urazhdin

Our newest faculty member, Dr. Sergei Urazhdin, joined the Department of Physics in September 2011. Sergei's experimental research is in the areas of nanomagnetism and spintronics. He has already established a leadership role in the nanomagnetics field. He is developing novel scanning probe microscopy techniques, and designing and building instrumentation for studies of magnetic nanostructures. Sergei's research has been recognized with support from an NSF CAREER award, and by a Cottrell Scholarship from the Research Corporation.
