Welcome
My name is Kazem Edmond and I am a 4th year graduate student in the Department of Physics at Emory University, located in Atlanta, Georgia. I am a member of the Weeks Research Group, whereI am studying the confinement of colloidal suspensions. Before coming to Emory, I worked as a research assistant for 2 years under Professor Anthony Dinsmore at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I also received my B.S. in Physics.
A significant amount of my work with Professor Dinsmore focussed on encapsulation and the self-assembly of novel materials. You can find out more about that kind of stuff here. Check out the Cylinders section to learn about my work with the self-assembly of micro-cylinders and the non-Newtonian jetting that is harnessed to make them. Also, I have done some work with the production of monodisperse emulsions, which you can read more about in the Emulsions section.
As an underclassman I have accomplished quite a bit of research with the UMass Medium Energy Physics group (MENP). You can read about that work in the JLAB and SLAC sections. Enjoy!
