Bachelor of Arts in Physics
Program description
The Bachelor of Arts in Physics offers a minimum core physics curriculum
along with a wide selection of elective courses so that coherent programs
may be planned which combine the fundamentals of physics and other disciplines
of the liberal arts and sciences. It is well suited to students preparing
to enter medicine, dentistry, law, business, secondary school teaching,
and multidisciplinary fields of science and mathematics.

BA students have a choice of taking either Physics
254, Classical Physics or both Physics 361, Analytical Mechanics
I and Physics 365, Electromagnetic Fields I. Physics 254 covers,
in one semester, the content of 361 and 365 at a simpler mathematical
level. If you took both 361 and 365, one would count as one of your
four physics electives. |

All physics courses are offered only once a year—either in the Fall or Spring semester—with these exceptions: Physics 115 and 116 are offered both Fall and Spring semesters. Physics 311S and 312S are offered in the Spring in alternate years.
