Bachelor of Science in Physics
Program description
The Bachelor of Science in Physics is a concentrated program for students
planning on graduate education in physics or engineering. B.S. Physics
students continue to learn and apply higher-level mathematics throughout
their program, and are required and encouraged to begin doing research
as early in their programs as possible.

B.S. Physics majors must complete 2 physics electives at their own convenience. One can be any physics course on or above the 200-level and one must be on or above the 300-level. One of these electives could be a senior Honors thesis.
|
Important: |
| • |
All physics courses are offered only once a year—either in the Fall or Spring semester—with these exceptions: Physics 115 and 116 are offered both Fall and Spring semesters. Physics 311S and 312S are offered in the Spring in alternate years.
|
| • |
B.S. Physics degree students are encouraged to become involved
in departmental research as early as possible in their programs.
See the director of undergraduate studies for details.
