Research
The externally-funded research in the
Department is focused in two principal areas: Soft Condensed Matter Physics
and Molecular Biophysics. These areas were selected because they are well
matched to the compact size of the Department of Physics. Reciprocally,
the Department's size provides the opportunity for close interactions
within and between the Groups, which are essential for rapid advances.
