Society of Physics Students (SPS)
The Society of Physics Students (SPS) is a professional association explicitly designed for students. Membership, through collegiate chapters, is open to anyone interested in physics. The only requirement for membership is that you be interested in physics. Besides physics majors, our members include majors in chemistry, computer science, engineering, geology, mathematics, medicine, and other fields.
Emory's chapter welcomes all students with an interest in physics and physical science. SPS holds regularly scheduled meetings in the department where members can exchange ideas and get to know one another and faculty and staff. The setting is relaxing and informal. Physics Majors and Minors are encourage to join SPS
SPS provides an excellent forum for learning about research opportunities in the physics department, and broader topics in the field. In addition, SPS host such events, Physics Night, Waffle Friday's, Professor Meet Greets, lab tours, outreach, game night, and study sessions for final exams. For information about SPS meetings and events, access their site at https://emory-of-physics-students.
